Sauteed Mushrooms

From Date Night - The New Steakhouse on August 27, 2019

Serves: 4 as a side dish


4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided

1 medium shallot, thinly sliced (onion may be substituted)

½ cup dry Marsala of brandy

1 lb cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced


In a large sauté pan, melt butter. Sauté shallots over medium high until softened. Add mushrooms and combine with shallots and butter. Add Marsala. Bring to a rapid simmer and reduce by half.
Continue to cook, lowering heat to medium, until tender.
Season with salt and pepper at the end of cooking.
